The Detroit Area Agency on Aging’s (DAAA) Senior Information System (SIS) is a one million dollar, ten-year project under the Detroit Empowerment Zone’s Family Elder Network. Under this initiative, DAAA uses computers and advanced technology to make information and assistance, computer training, and access to the Internet available to older adults, family caregivers, and aging professionals.
Information and AssistanceThe purpose of the Shared Information and Referral Database Project was to use computer technology and a shared database to expand the capacity of participating organizations to provide older adults, caregivers and professionals with information about community-based resources. Under this project, a network of service providers gained access to the Detroit Public Library’s TIP Database.
As a result of evaluating the project and transitioning the project to its next phase, DAAA is planning to provide information and assistance services directly for the Empowerment Zone and the larger community. For more information about Information and Assistance services please contact the Detroit Area Agency on Aging or submit a request for information using the electronic Request for Information form provided on this Web site.
