Adult Well-Being Service's Senior Service Center and Neighborhood Access sites are places where seniors can visit to access multiple services. Anyone who has questions about services can contact the site of his/herchoice. Older adults age 62 years and over are targeted for services; however, some services are available to persons below that age. The services offered can have a tremendous impact on the life of senior empowerment zone residents.
Hannan House Senior Service Center
The Hannan House Senior Service Center houses a number of agencies that serve older adults and offers a variety of services for seniors. The Center provides:
Tax Assistance: Income tax, homestead property tax, home heating credit and prescription drug credit Assessment by a social worker to determine needs of individuals and to assess for eligibility for services Informational interviews explaining all available services and leisure and growth opportunities Assessment for obtaining Michigan Emergency Pharmaceutical Program (MEPPS) vouchers World Medical Relief and the Focus Hope Food Program Substance Abuse Counseling Computer and job readiness training and employment opportunities Individualized exercise and nutrition counseling Group Exercise Programming Computer Resource Lab Current Information on Nursing Homes and alternative living situations Advocacy for nursing-home residents and their families Advocacy with Medicare and Medicaid issues American Association of Retired Persons programs and publications Assistance with forms, correspondence and entitlement applications Support groups for persons with Parkinson's Disease and for caregivers of persons with dementia Outreach services to seniors who need help to remain independently in their home. Respite Care and support for grandparents raising grandchildren Volunteer opportunities Notary, copying and faxing services To qualify for services, residents must meet program eligibility criteria for certain programs. Butzel Senior Center - (East)Butzel Senior Center is housed in the Butzel Family Center, which is owned and operated by the City of Detroit. Service providers whose services directly benefit seniors include: Adult Well-Being Services, Detroit Public Library, Neighborhood City Hall, Detroit Recreation Department, Detroit Police Mini Station, City of Detroit Department of Human Services, Mediation Center, D & M Optical, Trinity Medical Clinic and a SeniorNet Computer Learning Center. Boniface Human Services ( Southwest)Boniface Human Services is a non-profit service organization that has served the community since 1970. It offers information and referral, needs-assessment and benefit screening, and outreach services to older adults. It has a demonstrated ability to respond to the culturally diverse population specific to Southwest Detroit. The Boniface Senior Service Center provides the following services:

St. Patrick Senior Center, Inc. (Central)St. Patrick Senior Center, Inc. is located north of Downtown Detroit. This senior center has served older adults since 1974. Services include: meals served seven days a week, transportation, educational, social, cultural, medical, spiritual and recreational activities. The Senior Center offers the following services:
